DRIVER

Fitter analysis

David’s current R11 driver wasn’t custom fitted. The 50g regular stock shaft was too light and he was creating too much spin with it. Our new M2 still felt a bit light for him, so we ended up in the M1 460 with a stiffer and heavier shaft. This boosted his ball speed and reduced his spin by 1,300rpm to give him a much stronger, more penetrating flight.

David’s feedback

We initially tried the M2, but it felt a lot lighter than my current TaylorMade R11, which threw off my rhythm and feel. So Matt switched me to the M1 with a heavier 60g Aldila Rogue Black shaft that felt much more similar to my R11. Straight away, I was impressed that even my misses were really strong and my flight was noticeably a lot more penetrating with the heavier shaft. Matt and I also tweaked the sole weights, which further helped to improve my accuracy averages on TrackMan.

FAIRWAY WOOD

Fitter analysis

David struggles with his R11 3-wood off the deck, so we gave him an M2 5-wood that was easier to launch thanks to its extra loft. Even with the higher loft, he was carrying it 11 yards further for a 16-yard total gain.

David's feedback

I don't hit my three wood that often as I’m very inconsistent with it, but the M2 5-wood was launching very consistently and flying so much better than my R11. It’d definitely bring a few par 5s into range back at my home club, so will be a purchase that I seriously consider!

HYBRID

Fitter analysis

For David’s hybrid, we struck gold with the M2. At 22°, the 4H bridged the gap between his fairway wood and his longest iron effectively. Like the driver and 5-wood, we switched from a regular shaft to a stiff shaft to enhance his control and flight.

David’s feedback

My flight with my current Adams hybrid is very high, and I think I lose a lot of distance from that weak flight. With the M2 and a stiffer shaft, it was again easy to see how much more penetrating my flight was, even before TrackMan confirmed it.
