Inside Galvin Green: Cresting Room

We try cresting a polo shirt with the Ryder Cup logo

Inside Galvin Green: Cresting Room - At Galvin Green's HQ in Vaxjo, Sweden, we have a go at cresting our own polo shirt with the Ryder Cup 2018 logo

In the cresting room is where we find employees Alma and Fanny, who are in charge of adding the logos that have been requested on the various garments. From the famous Ryder Cup logo to some obscure club badges, they crest around 20,000 garments a year, using a special machine that heats the glue on the back to 165 degrees Celsius.

For the 2016 Ryder Cup, Galvin Green were chosen as the official outerwear provider for the European Ryder Cup team, showcasing Galvin Green brand on the biggest stages of world golf. No doubt a huge part of this selection was the availability of the brand’s C-Knit backer technology for the first time in its waterproofs, with which captain Darren Clarke was extremely impressed.

Thanks to dry conditions at Hazeltine the suits didn’t get much of an outing during tournament play, the feedback from the players was overwhelmingly positive and it created a launch pad for both the brand and C-Knit in golf.

“Our association with the Ryder Cup team is extremely important, it’s a great validation that Europe’s best put their trust in our brand and I think it was a reward for everything we’ve being doing since 1990," Says Brand Manager Nicholai Stein.

"Yes, we would have like a bit of rain, but there was no better platform for C-Knit and we were incredibly excited to make new news in that category.”
