This year’s US Open will mark Titleist’s 66th consecutive year as the number one ball at the second Major Championship of the year
The 2014 US Open at Pinehurst in June will mark the continuation of Titleist being chosen as the number one ball at the Major Championship.
The first time Titleist was the number one ball played at the US Open was in 1949 at Medinah Country Club.
This year’s staging of the Major Championship will represent the 66th consecutive year that Titleist golf balls have been the overwhelming choice for the majority of the field.
The count at the US Open continues the success of Titleist golf balls at Major Championships, following the brand's major clean sweep in 2013.
This included The Open Championship, where Titleist continued its record as the choice of the majority of the field since records began.
At the first major of 2014, The Masters, Titleist golf balls were not only the favourite of the field, but also the choice of the champion, Bubba Watson, who claimed his second Green Jacket trusting the performance of his Pro V1x.

To celebrate the landmark achievement, Titleist has produced a number of limited-edition Pro V1 golf balls stamped with a ‘66’ play number.
These limited-edition balls are available in selected Titleist accounts across the UK.
To date, 9,300 players have chosen to put a Pro V1 or Pro V1x into play, compared to 1,463 for the nearest competitor.
As a result of this support from the best players in the world, there have been a strong number of victories.
Titleist golf ball users have amassed 65 victories across worldwide professional tours so far in 2014, compared to 15 for the nearest competitor.
