Chambers Bay hole-by-hole guide: hole 8
A guide to hole 8, named 'High Road/Low Road'.
A guide to Chambers Bay's hole 8 ahead of the 2015 US Open.
Chambers Bay hole 8 - High Road/Low Road - Par 5 - 614 yards
It looks like a straight enough route to the hole from the tee of the eighth hole, but it will slope left to right. A drive too far left would likely hit the imposing bank running all along the hole and either roll down or rebound back onto the fairway.
There's no bank to protect a shot with too much fade, though, with the chances being the ball will drop down the side of the fairway.
An approach just short of the green will be met by undulations, meaning balls could roll back if they're not accurate enough.
