Chambers Bay hole-by-hole guide: hole 15
A guide to hole 15, named 'Lone Fir'
A guide to Chambers Bay's hole 15 ahead of the 2015 US Open.
Chambers Bay hole 15 - Lone Fir - Par 3 - 123-246 yards
Lone Fir may only be a par 3, but there's plenty surrounding this green to make you think carefully when stood on the 15th tee.
A large bunker surrounds three sides of the green, with a left to right slope added in for good measure. There's also a small, but deep, bunker just off the green to the left. As with many of the holes at Chambers Bay, the bigger bunkers may distract from the equally dangerous smaller ones.
Whether you're watching from behind the ropes as Tiger Woods prepares to tee off or watching at home, you'll probably spot the tree in the distance this hole is named after. As the name suggests, it's the only tree on the course and is well back from the green.
If you end up in the branches, it's safe to assume you used the wrong club.
