US Open
US Open 2024
- Dates: 13-16 June 2024
- Venue: Pinehurst No.2, North Carolina
- Defending champion: Wyndham Clark
Pinehurst No.2 will host its fourth US Open as the stunning North Carolina course returns to our screens for the first time since Michelle Wie's US Women's Open triumph in 2014, which took place a week after Martin Kaymer's runaway victory in the men's US Open.
Wyndham Clark defends the trophy he won at Los Angeles Country Club last year, where he captured his maiden Major title by a single stroke from Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy is once again among the favorites this year, along with Clark, but it is World No.1 Scottie Scheffler coming in as the man to beat. Scheffler has won four times already this year including at The Players Championship and The Masters, where he sealed his second Green Jacket.
The US Open trophy is the only piece of missing silverware from Phil Mickelson's collection, and he will once again chase the Career Grand Slam. He has finished second in the tournament on six separate occasions, in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2013.
