Paradores - two of Spain's golfing 'hot spots'
Parador El Saler and Parador Malaga Golf offer a new golfing holiday with a difference
Thanks to the climate, great courses and luxurious accommodation, Spain has long held a reputation for being one of Europe's golfing 'hot spots'. If you are looking to experience real Spanish culture and cuisine along with a golfing break, there are two contemporary Paradores which could suit your needs: Parador El Saler, situated near Valencia and Parador Malaga Golf on the Costa del Sol.
Firstly, El Saler Golf Course built within the El Saler Nature Reserve has previously been voted the second best golf course in Europe, and holds a reputation for having one of the best layouts in the world. Designed by Spanish architect Javier Arana, the 18-hole golf course is laid out within pine groves and sand dunes, highlighting the picturesque surroundings of the course. In addition, the resort includes a golf school, driving range, pro shop and restaurant in order to suit all your needs.
Alternatively, Parador Malaga Golf situated on the Costa del Sol is ideally located five minutes from Malaga Airport, and ten minutes from the nearest town. Designed by British architect Tom Simpson of Turnbull and Muirfield, the course which re-opened in 2007 after a refurbishment, is spread over two links areas and suits all golfing abilities. Parador Malaga Golf also includes a golf school and driving range, along with a luxury Spa that attracts golfers and non-golfers alike.
Price per night with breakfast starts from £118 for golfers, and £74 for non-golfers at Parador El Saler, and prices for golfers begin at £80 at Parador Malaga Golf.
