AdventureTemples golf holidays
AdventureTemples is a new luxury adventure operator and its destinations include some exciting offerings for golfers
AdventureTemples is a new luxury adventure operator which launched in October 2011 and features tailor-made trips from a luxury base designed to stimulate the mind, body and spirit. Below are three of its favourite luxury golfing holidays.
Jungle Golf in Malaysia
Strolling the greens through Langkawi Island's tropical rainforest is literally a whole new ball game. The destination offers world-class golfing, on-course wildlife encounters and even a 19th hole for VIP guests, with nothing between the tee and the green except the Andaman Sea. The base is the ultra five-star The Datai, which offers guests top service, stimulation and relaxation. The facilities here will only get better too with the addition of a course designed by Ernie Els, opening in 2013 - you might even run into the legend himself when he takes a break between tournaments to oversee his creation. A week's holiday at this remarkable resort costs from £2,650 pp, based on two sharing, including international and domestic flights and accommodation on a B&B basis.

Desert Golf in Morocco
If Malaysia's too far afield, you could always choose Morocco's Agafay Desert as your golfing back-drop where missing the fairway risks ending up in the ultimate bunker! Away from La Pause golf course, guests can try mountain-trekking, camel-riding and quad-biking. The five-star Kasbah Tamadot provides the perfect base with its three 18-hole courses: The Royal Golf Course is the late King Hassan II's favourite, La Palmeraie boasts Atlas views, and the Amelkis sits beneath the mountain range and has been home to Open du Maroc. A week based at Sir Richard Branson's Moroccan retreat, Kasbah Tamadot, costs from £1,350 pp, based on two sharing, including flights and accommodation on a B&B basis.

Snow Golf in Switzerland
Closer to home, snow golf in the Swiss Alps - where the green becomes the white - is one of the AdventureTemples' community's favourite adventures. Here the skills that work back home won't necessarily cut the mustard (though they do try to help by making the ball red). Although there are only nine holes, it'll be more of a challenge than a testing championship course. At the end of the day, kick off your crampons and head to the igloobase - the world's sole snow clubhouse. If you find yourself wanting more, guests staying at the legendary five-star Victoria Jungfrau can practice in the indoor golfing facilities, as well as booking any of the six nearby courses. The closest is the 18-hole Interlaken-Unterseen, situated next to Lake Thun, that's made that extra bit special with a Bermuda Triangle between holes 13 and 15. Prices for a week cost from £1,500 pp, based on two sharing including flights, and accommodation on B&B basis.
