Baltusrol Golf Club Hole by Hole Guide: Hole 4
Hole 4 - Par 3 - 195 yards
Known as 'The Famous Fourth', this is Baltusrol's signature hole.
Played over a lake, the par-3 fourth, at 195 yards, is actually the lower course's shortest hole.
The story goes that after Robert Trent Jones was criticised for making changes to it in 1952, he took the critics to play the hole.
Jones aced it with a four iron and apparently said “Gentlemen, as you can see, the hole is eminently fair.”

There's a bunker left and three at the back which will see a lot of action as nobody will want to come up short.
At 195 yards it'll be something like a seven iron for the long hitters and most will bite your hand off for middle of the green and two putts.
