Tiger Woods has made it through to the third day for the first time in three Majors. But that is because play was suspended due to the weather, leaving him with 5 holes left of his second round. To make it into the third round it looks as though he needs to play these in 2 under.

Justin Rose

Justin Rose

Justin Rose plays the 2nd hole on the Straits course and gets a helping hand afterwards. He is one of those who have to return early on the third day to compete the second round. He now faces a 5am alarm call which he admits is "a bit of a drag" and confessed "I opened my big mouth to the boys I was playing with and said the end was in sight. Thirty seconds later they blew the horn, so my name was mud walking up the 18th."

Hiroshi Iwata

Hiroshi Iwata made a record-equaling 63 in the second round. Not bad after an opening 77. The 34-year-old Japanese golfer became the 25th player to shoot this score in a Major, Vijay Singh and Greg Norman the only men to have done it twice. Thirteen of the 27 scores of 63 in a Major have come in the USPGA, including the last three with Steve Stricker and Jason Dufner achieving the mark in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

From 11 to 17 he recorded five birdies and an eagle in to leave him needing a birdie on the treacherous last for a 62. His tee shot found the fairway but his next shot found thick rough. A marvellous chip out to 4ft secured his par and his 63. George Coetzee could have made 63, had he birdied the final hole, but made a bogey instead.
