A snapshot of the opening round of the USPGA Championship of 2015
Rory McIlroy rolls up not his sleeves but his trouser leg, Rose remains consistent, Jordan Spieth bounces back and that terror final hole and more...
Dustin Johnson walks to the first tee. He was to score 66 to become the first man to lead three consecutive Majors after the firs round. He has yet to win a Major.
"Today was pretty easy, I would have to say," Johnson said. "I was swinging well and I was hitting the shots where I was looking and I really felt like I was just super patient, stayed focused all day.”
"I played pretty well at the US Open on the weekend. At the British Open I didn't play well on the weekend, but even the first two days I didn't feel like I was playing that good golf.”
"Today, I really felt like I had my ball under control a lot like I did at the US Open. We'll just have to see what happens. It's only the first round - we've still got a lot of golf to play."
Justin Rose playing the 13th hole. Rose’s opening round of 69 was his 25th consecutive round in a Major of 72 or better.
Rory McIlroy shot 71 on his comeback from injury. His last competitive round before this was 53 days ago. Here he is chipping onto the 16th green. But now, fashionistas out there we do appreciate that knowing what to wear on the course can be tricky- but does this shirt and trouser combo really work?

McIlroy gets ready to unleash his inner Jean van de Velde and play from the water on the 5th. However his preparations went no further than rolling up one trouser leg - also the water was quite shallow and so he went ahead with his shot and chipped back onto the green.
Jordan Spieth plays his tee shot on the 12th, having bogeyed the 11th. This was his only bogey of the round. He birdied the 12th - whenever he has made a bogey in a Major in 2015 in 45% of these cases he has then birdied the next hole.
In the first round of the USPGA Championship the final hole yielded up six birdies, and 66 pars; 63 players made bogeys and 21 made double bogey or worse.
