It would have been very tough for me to come back from a Major championship such as this if I didn’t finish it off. Knowing that I had the 54-hole led or tied for the 54-hole lead for the last three Majors and not being able to finish, it would have been tough for me mentally, to really kind of come back from that. Even though I feel like I’m a positive person I think that, in the back of my mind, something would have triggered and I would have gone, ‘maybe I can’t really finish it off’. Jason Day

With the conditions that we faced on the first day and the conditions that we faced today, I thought anything between 10- and 15-under would have a great chance to win, but obviously the standard is just so high these days. I didn't see close to 20-under par winning this tournament. Rory McIlroy Coming back after the lay-off, not hitting a competitive shot in two months, shooting nine under was a decent effort. The ankle feels fine, but I'm just going to take a couple of weeks off and not need a strap or anything to play. And then after that I've got another week off, so by the time I'm in the middle of September, there will be no issues and hopefully I can give it a good run in the FedEx Cup. I had a putt on number 12 to get to 17 under. Jason, at that point, was at 18. I did all I could really through the front nine, and when I made the turn I really got in the tournament. The double bogey on 13 took the wind out of my sails. That's the thing about this golf course, there are birdies to be had, but if you get in the wrong spot, you can get a double real quick. There's always disappointment. I don't think it will change my life. Winning changes your life.
