Our guide to the 101st PGA Championship host…

This year is the first tournament to be held in its new slot in the calendar of May.

It is the season's second major of the year and the move also sees the Players Championship move from May to March and the BMW PGA Championship move from May to September.

The venue is the Black Course at Bethpage State Park, which last hosted a Major championship in 2009. In that US Open Lucas Glover emerged victorious and before that Tiger won in 2002.

His golfing highlights are making albatross on the 9th hole on the Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa, shooting an under-par round, playing in the Aramco Team Series on the Ladies European Tour and making his one and only hole-in-one at the age of 15 - a long time ago now!
