After what seems like an eternity, the Masters Tournament - the first major of 2014 - is finally underway at Augusta National in Georgia.

Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player all hit drives down the first hole to mark the official start of the tournament.

At the end of round one, it was Bill Haas - who opened up with a four-under-par 68 - who led by two shots from 2012 champion Bubba Watson and Louis Oosthuizen.

The likes of Brandt Snedeker, KJ Choi, Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy are among the 18 players within three shots of the lead.
