Tiger Woods opened up in front of the media ahead of this week's US Masters and spoke honestly in front of the 180 people that had previously been granted special permission to attend the world number one's press conference at Augusta.
Woods answered all of the questions that were asked, only once responding "that's private" when prompted to explain what the treatment was for that he has been having for the last six weeks.
The 14-time Major winner started by saying sorry to his fellow professionals. "I know the players have been bombarded with questions and I hope after today they can be left alone," said Woods.
"I apologise to them for having to endure what they have over the last few months."
Woods has not competed since winning the Australian Masters last November, although when asked what his expectations were for the Masters, he responded: "Nothing's changed, I will still go out there to win this thing."
The 34-year old also thanked the spectators at Augusta, approximately 500 of which turned out to watch Woods in his first official practice session.
"What a great day. Coming into today I didn't know what to expect with regard to my reception," said Woods.
