Faldo tips Donald for Masters glory
Luke Donald has what it takes to capture his first Major championship at Augusta this week, according to Sir Nick Faldo
Luke Donald has what it takes to capture his first Major championship at Augusta this week, according to Sir Nick Faldo.
The world number one will be looking to end his Major drought at the Masters by pulling on the Green Jacket on Sunday.
The unwanted title of 'best player never to win a Major' looms over Donald and fellow countryman Lee Westwood but Faldo, a three-time Masters champion, believes Donald has everything he needs to prevail at Augusta.
"Luke is one of the guys who has won in the last month, he played great last year and he was right there. He has learnt from that experience. I think Luke has all the qualities you need," he said.
This year's Masters tournament will feature Britain's strongest contingent with the world's top three players and four of the world's top ten hailing from these Isles.
However, with the resurgence of Tiger Woods the quest for Major glory will be hard fought, but Faldo has reservations about the dominance the American may have compared to previous years.
"Now there are ten guys he's got to beat and maybe they are not as scared of him nowadays as they used to be," he said.
