How Many Patrons Attend The Masters?
How many patrons usually line the fairways at Augusta National during Masters week?
The first Major of the year at The Masters is one of the greatest events in sport and attending the iconic Augusta National during the tournament week is something high up on every golfer's bucket list.
Whether its the beautifully manicured course that all golfers have grown to know and love, the famous Masters food including the pimento cheese sandwich, or just the spectacle as a whole, a Masters badge is one of the best tickets a sports fan can get their hands on - although getting Masters tickets is fairly difficult.
So, how many fans, or patrons as their known at The Masters, are usually in attendance for the first Major of the year?
Well, true to form, Augusta National doesn't actually share its attendance figures for the event.
However, it is believed that around 40,000 eager spectators pass through the gates from Thursday to Sunday during the tournament rounds, with many arriving at the crack of dawn to secure a spot at Amen Corner for the day.
Incidentally, more fans typically attend the practice days from Monday to Wednesday of tournament week, with Bleacher Report writing that as many as 50,000 out in force to watch the world's best go through their meticulous preparation.
One of the many things you can't do at Augusta National is take your phone around with you, but one thing you can do on the practice days is bring a camera to snap some shots of Amen Corner and the world's best players.

Once the tournament starts though, it's strictly no cameras and sneaking one in could get you escorted off the premises.
These numbers, thought to be around 90,000 for the week, are fairly small compared to a number of other tournaments, and that's probably just how Augusta likes it. That number is extremely low when you consider that around two million people enter the ballot for tickets each year.
Augusta National is a very exclusive club and The Masters is an exclusive tournament that is a real 'once in a lifetime' experience for many fans.
The WM Phoenix Open, for example, is said to welcome around 700,000 fans during the week while the 150th Open held a record-breaking 290,000 fans. The 2022 US Open had 175,000 spectators while the 2023 PGA Championship had an estimated 225,000 fans on-site.
A lifelong golf fan, Andy graduated in 2019 with a degree in Sports Journalism and got his first role in the industry as the Instruction Editor for National Club Golfer. From there, he decided to go freelance and now covers a variety of topics for Golf Monthly.
Andy took up the game at the age of seven and even harboured ambitions of a career in the professional ranks for a spell. That didn’t pan out, but he still enjoys his weekend golf at Royal Troon and holds a scratch handicap. As a side note, he's made five holes-in-one and could quite possibly be Retief Goosen’s biggest fan.
As well as the above, some of Andy's work has featured on websites such as goal.com, dailyrecord.co.uk, and theopen.com.
