FootJoy is the number one in golfing shoes and gloves, and has reaffirmed its status as the world’s most trusted shoe as the majority of players at the 2014 Open have chosen FJ footwear, including world number one Adam Scott.

The brands dominance in the footwear category cannot be denied as it leads the shoe count at golf’s oldest Major.

An overwhelming 54% of this years Open golfers have opted to wear shoes from FJ’s extensive collection- 84 players in total.

FootJoy Marketing Manager Russel Lawes spoke about what the brand offers golfers, saying “Whether they are looking for additional stability, improved comfort, better fit or simply a great looking and top performing golf shoe, there is no question that they will find exactly what they are looking for within our comprehensive footwear family.’

As if this wasn’t enough, almost a third of the field at Hoylake are also wearing FootJoy gloves- more than twice the amount of the closest competitor. In fact, 31% of the golfers were seen wearing FJ in the opening rounds of this years competition.

“Both FootJoy shoes and gloves offer unbeatable performance, so it really is no surprise that the majority of golfers competing for the year’s most important titles choose to sport our products,” said Lawes.

“We are delighted by the popularity of both our shoes and gloves in this year’s Open Championship, which further demonstrates FJ’s status as the market-leading brand in both categories worldwide.”

FootJoy also remains the overwhelming favourite brand in the elite amateur game, as well as dominating shoe and glove counts in Majors, PGA and European Tour events in recent years.

At the Amateur Championship at Royal Portrush, 196 of the 288 golfers took to the Northern Irish course wearing FJ shoes- an overwhelming 88%.

There are many reasons why FootJoy remains the favourite of both pro and amateur golfers around the world.

The superior comfort and performance of their footwear, the advanced feel and fit of their gloves and the contemporary styling of the Performance Apparel Collection all play a part in the overwhelming success of FootJoy.
