With the launch of D.N.A, followed by the new Hyperflex shoe, FootJoy has taken huge leaps forward in golf shoe design. The launch of the FootJoy D.N.A shoe took us by surprise last year and the performance was outstanding. Hyperflex is arguably even more forward thinking. While the more traditional golf shoe designs have continued to impress in the FootJoy range (including Icon Black and DryJoys Tour), there have been a number of offerings (such as D.N.A and DryJoys Casual) that have shown that FootJoy designers are far from stuck in the past. The introduction of the Hyperflex shoe completes what is undoubtedly the most comprehensive and varied golf shoe line available.
The Hyperflex appearance is undoubtedly athletic. The design wouldn’t look out of place on a running track or football pitch. Golf shoe brands taking inspiration from other sports is certainly not new, but what impressed me about these during testing is that they provide far more stability and support than you would expect from this sort of styling. As someone who experiences a lot of foot movement when swinging I need plenty of support from my golf shoe. For that reason a lightweight design like an M:Project isn't best suited to my needs. If you are looking for a sporty looking shoe that also provides plenty of support during the swing, then you should put the Hyperflex high on your list.

If you think the Navy/Lime combination is too bright for your taste and the way you dress on the course, be sure to take a look at the other colour combinations available. Some of the other options provide a very different overall look.
I was particularly surprised to hear that the Hyperflex design is fully waterproof and after testing on a drizzly January morning I can confirm that it is the case. The cushioning on offer is reminiscent of the supremely comfortable FootJoy Contour Casual but with far more grip and support. The look won’t be for all golfers, particularly those who still love the look of a tradional FootJoy shoe, but the performance and comfort on offer will impress anyone who tries them. The Hyperflex fills the only obvious gap in the FootJoy line, which now really does feature something to suit every requirement.
