Odyssey Tank Cruiser #7 Putter
Golf Monthly's test team reviews the Odyssey Tank Cruiser #7 putter.
The Tank Cruiser #7 rolled the ball beautifully, and the feeling of balance through the stroke was fantastic. Having the ability to adjust the putter’s balance by changing the head and grip weights is ideal for finding that special feel. Another great feature is the extended SuperStroke grip. This enabled me to use the putter at many different lengths to find the perfect set-up.

The Odyssey #7 head has always offered great stability, and is fantastic for alignment. The counterbalanced weighting, and the ability to tweak to your personal needs, makes this a brilliant option if you don’t hole as many putts as you feel you should. There are a number of superb counterbalanced designs on the market at the moment, and this is up there with them.

Don’t expect counterbalancing to change your putting overnight. It will offer instant improvements if you’re twitchy from short range, but the change will take a little bit of adjusting to, particularly on long-range distance control. The long-term improvement can be huge, though.

Odyssey Tank Cruiser #7 putter
Key technology
Not only does the Cruiser #7 incorporate counterbalancing, it’s also adjustable. Changeable weights in the head and the grip allow you to find the perfect balance. A new longer version of the SuperStroke thick grip is designed to eliminate wrist break during the stroke, and can be gripped down to aid stability. A White Hot face insert offers a consistent sound and feel.
Will suit
Players looking for consistency from mid and short range.
