Nike SQ Sumo Irons
Golf Monthly Verdict

The SQ is an ultra-easy to hit iron that sends it away on a high flight with no apparent distance loss on a calm day – exactly what it sets out to do. Perfect for its target higher handicap market, but I could also see the odd long iron creeping into better players’ bags in the same way as with Callaway’s Big Bertha.

Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

The SQ Sumo irons are designed for maximum ease of use thanks to long blades, wide soles and extreme perimeter-weighting. Light “Cryo Steel” face inserts from 4- to 7-iron promise lively performance across the whole clubface, while the yellow cavity insert helps dampen out unwanted impact vibrations.
