Howson GBH Attacker
A budget-priced revelation. A good size and shape of head producing reasonable performance. At this price it would pay for itself in shots saved within a round or two. The only question mark is over its slightly aggressive name.
Why you can trust Golf Monthly
Compact black headed utility with shallow face and split level sole. The “AX-Sole” design is engineered to make the club highly playable from the fairway, the rough, even divots and bunkers. Despite the compact head, peripheral weighting in the Attacker is optimised to create a large sweetspot. Lofts available: 18, 21 and 24 degrees. For such a budget club the Attacker performs well. The compact head delivers a solid strike and is only let down by the somewhat inconsistent shaft. It doesn't struggle for length and although it's not the most accurate utility on the market it still delivers good forgiveness.
