Sun Mountain ECO-LITE 14-Way Stand Bag Review
For golfers who like to carry their clubs, having a bag that is lightweight is vitally important. There’s nothing worse than feeling weighed down approaching the end of a round as it’s going to undoubtedly affect performance. With loads of options to choose from, we think the Sun Mountain ECO-LITE 14-way stands out as one of the best stand bags.
Sun Mountain produces some of the best golf bags across all categories, and the new ECO-LITE is just the latest example of the quality you can expect by putting your trust in this brand. It’s also available at a really competitive price point, providing golfers with excellent value for money.
Although it isn’t fully waterproof, it is made using water resistant fabric, which we found offered really extensive protection. It wasn’t until the heavens really opened that some water began to penetrate the fabric, and even then it was minimal.
As mentioned, a feature we really like about this bag is how light it is. At just 1.8kg it’s not much heavier than some of the best Sunday bags or some of the best pencil bags, while it offers additional performance in other areas. What this meant for us was that we were able to conserve energy when we needed it most playing the last few holes.
It also makes this bag the perfect companion when traveling further afield or for golfers who like to nip out for a quick nine with something that isn’t going to slow them down. Two well-cushioned and well-fitting straps add to the feeling of comfort.
In weight, it’s akin to a Sunday or pencil bag, but in storage it rivals anything in the stand bag arena. It has a full-length apparel pocket, which we found offered more than enough space for additional layers or waterproofs. There’s also a valuables pocket and a bottle holder, which is conveniently placed
Finally, in a push to do its bit in a bid to end plastic waste, each Sun Mountain ECO-LITE bag has been manufactured using 25 20-oz (600ml) plastic bottles.
