Rio Olympic Golf Course Hole by Hole: Hole 16
The drivable par-4 16th could be where the medals are decided

A guide to the sixteenth hole of the Rio Olympic Golf Course ahead of the 2016 Olympics in August
Rio Olympic Golf Course Hole by Hole: Hole 16
Hole 16 - Par 4 - 317 yards
Risk and reward on this par-4 hole that measures 317 yards.
The hole is obviously drivable for the longer hitters but hitting and staying on the putting surface, while navigating the six bunkers that protect this green down the right hand side, is the key.
The putting surface is very small and sits down in a hollow which pinches in at the middle.
Some players will hit 3-wood here but with the undulations on the ground, the ball could run off anywhere.

The prevailing wind here will play across the players from the right so holding it up against the wind with a fade for the right-hander is the play.
The 16th could be where a gold medal is won or lost.
