Golf Monthly is looking for nominations from readers for a new six-month series we are running in association with Mizuno to identify and highlight the best young amateur golfers in the UK and Ireland.
The criteria for the award is as follows:
- The nominated golfer must be a Category 1 player (five handicap and under) and aged 25 or below when the nomination is made
- Someone else has to nominate them - be it a fellow member at their club, their coach or a friend/family member - for some excellent recent (last six months) performances
For example, the performance/achievement could be getting their handicap inside five for the first time, getting down to scratch or making it into plus figures.
Alternatively, the nomination could be for shooting a career low round in competition, making a hatful of birdies in a Medal round, becoming the youngest every club champion or making it on to the county, or even national team.
Golf Monthly will interview them about the achievements and goals for the future for a short feature that will appear in the amateur pages of our 'Leaderboard' section. They will also receive two Mizuno MP T11 wedges and a framed certificate from Golf Monthly.
