Money/charity
The $9m will come from sponsors, TV rights and the paying fans at home.
That has been criticised as the initial rumours were that the pair would be stumping up the money themselves.
However, it's not all bad news as both men and the PGA Tour will be donating money to charity from the side bets.
Mickelson's agent Steve Loy told GolfChannel.com that Lefty will be donating portions of the charitable funds to his own charitable fund, The Children of the 58 Fund and the Las Vegas Shriners.
The Children of the 58 Fund was set up after Las Vegas’ mass shooting last year and provides scholarships to the children whose parents lost their lives in the horrific shooting.
Loy confirmed that more money from the media rights fees will be donated to charity from Mickelson, Woods and the PGA Tour.
Woods’ manager also confirmed that Woods’ charitable donations will be going to the Tiger Woods Foundation and other local Las Vegas charities.
TV commentary
NBA Hall of Fame member Charles Barkley is set to join Samuel L Jackson and Ernie Johnson on the broadcasting team.
They're joined alongside Peter Jacobson, Darren Clarke, Pat Perez, Adam Lefkoe, Natalie Gulbis and Shane Bacon.

More on the rivarly
The pair, who have won a combined 19 majors and 122 PGA Tour titles, have had a fierce rivalry for two decades but have become friends in recent years with age and time spent together in the last two Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup matches where Woods was a vice-captain.
Mickelson helped out Tiger with his short game when he had the chipping yips in 2015 and Lefty revealed to Golf.com that Woods texted him every night during the WGC-Mexico Championship this year with words of encouragement.
Mickelson went on to win and become the oldest winner of a World Golf Championship.
“It allows us to be a little bit more real, if you will,” Mickelson said after the initial announcement.
“We think there will be some pretty good interest, but we’re also trying to present it in a way that you don’t get to see with normal TV.
“With only two guys, we should have a totally different experience with fans, because we will have smaller crowds that won’t necessarily have ropes they can walk inside the fairway and up near the greens. The idea is not just to have this great match, but to have this interactive experience so fans can see something they’ve never seen in televised golf before.”
Woods and Mickelson had some light banter on Twitter after the match was announced.

Woods and Mickelson were paired together for the opening two rounds at the Players Championship this year where Lefty publicly suggested the match.
In his pre-tournament press conference he said, “As I look at the cover of the newspaper and the pairing is on there and the excitement that’s been going on around here, it gets me thinking: Why don’t we just bypass all the ancillary stuff of a tournament and just go head-to-head and just have kind of a high-stake, winner-take-all match?"
Woods responded with positive comments on the idea. "I'm definitely not against that," he said.
"We'll play for whatever makes him uncomfortable."
"You will hear a lot of the comments that you don't hear on regular TV. We both like to talk smack," Mickelson said.
