No surprises ahead of the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai this weekend as Rory McIlroy starts as the

5/1 favourite.

McIlroy comes into the tournament in fine form and has a very strong track record around the course at the Sheshan International Golf Club.

Lee Westwood is certain to attract a lot of money this week. He finished second in last year's tournament and tied for eighth the year before. While he may of finished behind McIlroy at the Shanghai Masters last weekend, he carded a promising 67 that included seven birdies and a hole-in-one on the Sunday. He starts the tournament as

second favourite at 8/1.

Looking at the form of the pair in this tournament and their stature within the game at present it is hard to look past either of them to pick up the trophy.

However there is value to be found elsewhere in the market, as they are both at short prices. If you're a believer in the old adage 'horses for courses' you may want to have a look at Paul Casey who is currently at

25/1.

The Englishman has shown promise at a return to form towards the back end of the season and has an impressive record at Sheshan International. He has finished inside the top ten five times here and on the other occasion was tied 11th.

Adam Scott is another contender this week and is priced at

16/1, while defending champion Francesco Molinari is at

25/1.

Golf Monthly has also teamed up with Ladbrokes for the WGC-HSBC Champions tournament to offer new clients

£50 in free bets.

Further down the field Keegan Bradley is listed at

40/1. Having played in last week's Shanghai Masters, the USPGA winner is certain to have gained some advantage over his competitors having had a week to acclimatise himself in China. Following his win over McIlroy, Schwartzel and Clarke in the PGA Grand Slam of golf, I'm tipping him to go well this week and show punters a return.

Elsewhere Simon Dyson looks an appealing each way bet at

50/1. The Englishman was in fine form before taking a period of rest and will be coming into this week's tournament refreshed and ready to take the trophy.
