v
Rickie Fowler 8 vs Carl Pettersson 9
Rickie Fowler will look to improve on last year's performance, having been knocked out in the first round. He will, however, face tough competition from the Swede, in his first appearance in the competition since 2007.
v
Dustin Johnson 4 vs Alexander Noren 13
After winning the season opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Dustin Johnson will look to build on his solid start in 2013. Noren, just outside the World's top 50, will need to be on top form.
v
Graeme McDowell 5 vs Padraig Harrington 12
Another all-Irish tie will see the former Ryder Cup pairing face off. Both Harrington and Mcdowell missed the cut at the Northern Trust Open last week.
v
Bubba Watson 2 vs Chris Wood 15
Chris Wood clinched his maiden European Tour title in Qatar at the end of January and will hope to have a strong weekend at Dove Mountain. Major Champion Bubba Watson will provide a tough test in the opening round.
v
Ryan Moore 10 vs Jim Furyk 7
The only all-American tie of the Bobby Jones bracket sees tour veteran up Furyk up against Ryan Moore. Moore had his best season to date in 2012 and having qualified for all the marquee events this year, he will be eager to get into the weekend's play.
v
Charl Schwartzel 3 vs Russell Henley 14
Russell Henley became the first PGA tour rookie to win their debut competition, after his resounding victory at the Sony Open in January. Schwartzel has been enjoying a run of good form, and after a third place finish at the Northern Trust Open, he will bid to become the first South African to win the WGC Matchplay Championship.
v
Zach Johnson 6 vs Jason Day 11
With neither Johnson nor Day reaching past the second round in last year's competition, both will be hoping to improve this time round. Day already has a couple of top 10 finishes under his belt this year, while Johnson has struggled to play his best golf.
