Volvo Golf Champions betting guide
All the latest betting odds and tips ahead of this week's Volvo Golf Champions tournament at the Links at Fancourt in South Africa
The European Tour moves on to The Volvo Golf Champions tournament in South Africa this week and Louis Oosthuizen is the pre-tournament favourite at
5/1 with Ladbrokes.
Oosthuizen was has been on an incredible run since the back end of 2011 and continued that run at the Africa Open two weeks ago to win the tournament.
However he is coming up against a stronger field on the Links at Fancourt this week, where there are eight former Major winners competing for the title, and at
5/1 I'd give him a swerve.
Charl Schwartzel is at
6/1 after missing the cut at the Joburg Open. As good a player as he is, last week's performance could be a sign of a hectic 2011 schedule catching up with him so I'd also avoid him this week.

Robert Karlsson is at
14/1, while Simon Dyson and Thomas Aiken are at
16/1. I've backed Aiken each-way at the last two events and he hasn't quite got himself into the top five but has shown promising form. I'm tempted to stick with him this week. He hasn't shown a return yet in 2012, but he certainly has the game to deliver on the Links at Fancourt.
Also at
16/1 is Ernie Els. Els has the most experience around this course with Retief Goosen who is at
14/1. Both players will be confident of a good performance this week.
I'm backing Robert Rock to build on his good performance in the Joburg Open last week. At
25/1 the Englishman is a good each-way shout and has shown good form with top ten finishes in his last two events.
Last week's Joburg Open winner Branden Grace is also at
25/1. But for a opening round 77 in the Africa Open two weeks ago he would have been challenging Oosthuizen for the trophy. Despite the bad start, he still managed to fight back and finish in 14th. He is clearly on a hot streak of form right now and is an obvious each-way pick this week.
There are a couple of young guns at
40/1 in Matteo Manassero and Tom Lewis. Both have the potential to do well this week but there is a lot of experience in this field at the same price in Thomas Bjorn and Paul Lawrie.
Lawrie had an excellent finish to his 2011 season with a second place finish in the Dubai World Championship. He is one to look out for this week.
