Tiger's Major ambition: "It takes time"
Tiger Woods answered a lot of questions prior to the Honda Classic, including his Major quest and his current form
Tiger Woods spent time answering questions prior to the Honda Classic and admitted that his quest to beat Jack Nicklaus record of Majors is going to take time.
The 14-time Major winner took lots of questions about his run-up to Augusta and The Masters, as well as questions regarding his current form, and when asked about his bid to beat Nicklaus' all-time record of 18 Majors, he remained defiant that it could be done.
"It takes time," said Woods. " It's exciting. It's taken an entire career to do it. It's going to take a while. Jack [Nicklaus] didn't do it overnight."
Woods' focus on Nicklaus' record remains the same as it was when he was winning Majors on a regular basis, despite not notching one of the four treasured 'big ones' since the 2008 US Open.
And it was clear that second-place finishes are not of interest to the 36-year-old. "I grew up in sports and I don't understand wanting to finish second when you can come first."
The Honda Classic starts tomorrow and Rory McIlroy tees off as the 7/1 favourite.
