Tiger Woods ready to play spectator

Tiger Woods will be a mere spectator this week as he hosts the Chevron World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club.
Knee surgery has kept Woods out of action since his US Open triumph in June, which means he’ll be unable to compete in his own tournament – an event he’s claimed on four occasions.
The world No.1 has won the contest for the past two years running, but will just be watching again this week as he continues his recovery from reconstructive knee surgery.
"Unfortunately, I can't play that incredible golf course," Woods said. "I can only cheer from the sidelines in a cart.
"So it will be a different kind of week for me, a lot of eating, a lot of sitting in there and grubbing.
"I wish I could defend my title but it's going to be fun to watch this field compete.”
That field comprises eight of the world’s top 20 players, including 2008 European Tour Player of the Year Padraig Harrington. Luke Donald also continues his comeback from a wrist injury.
