Tiger Woods "honoured" by Obama invite

Tiger Woods joined a host of stars on Sunday when speaking at President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration event in Washington DC.
The 14-time Major, used to battling it out with golf’s finest, took his place alongside a host of talented actors and musicians, including Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks and Beyonce.
The world’s number one golfer became the first African-American to win a Major at the US Masters in 1997.
Currently sidelined through injury, Woods has been forced to watch some his fiercest rivals close the gap at the top of the world rankings, but yesterday was one Sunday the 33-year-old was happy not to be competing in, revealing that he was “honoured” to be invited to the historic event.
The "We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial" was the same location where civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in 1963.
Woods, who had knee surgery after his US Open victory in June, has yet to commit to when he’ll make his first competitive return, although it's rumoured that he’s targeting the US Masters in April.
