The Tour Championship golf betting guide
Paul Krishnamurty is away this week, so Golf Monthly's very own betting guru Tom Clarke has created his own guide for this week’s Tour Championship
Well the FedExCup is nearly at an end, and with it the long haul of an occasionally exciting FedExCup play-offs that has seen the field drop from 125 to just 30 for this week's final event, The Tour Championship at East Lake in Georgia.
Tiger Woods is of course the man to look at; he has won six tournaments including the most recent BMW Championship at Cog Hill. But a simple look at the markets shows you there is simply no value in with him; the best odds you can get are just better than evens.
Jim Furyk has had a very impressive play-off run with his results getting better and better, ending with a 2nd place in the BMW Championship. A former US Open winner, Furyk certainly has the gritty determination and demeanor to win here, where the pressure will be abundant with such huge amounts of money on offer.
Steve Stricker has had an outstanding year with three wins and two second places. He won only a few weeks ago at the Deutsche Bank Championship and although he does not have a huge average driving distance, he is outstanding with the flat stick (2nd overall) and if he can rely on his putter to get him out of any trouble then he could be in the hunt come Sunday.
