Ross Fisher's Volvo World Match Play victory was the least the Englishman deserved for a fantastic season that almost saw him claim the famous Claret Jug.

Beating Anthony Kim went a long way to making up for the heartbreak of surrendering a great chance to win at Turnberry. It would be a surprise not to see him contending many Opens in the years ahead.

At fourth in the Race to Dubai Money List going into the HSBC Champions, the Wentworth man could yet make an already good year a fantastic one.
