The Players Championship golf betting guide
The unofficial 5th Major of the season, TPC Sawgrass can bring some players to their knees, here are our picks for who we think can withstand the pressure
It's time for the unofficial 5th Major of the season, as the best players on both Tours take their annual pilgrimage to TPC Sawgrass for The Players Championship.
A course which can severely punish wayward drives and irons we will be highlighting people who can control their ball and also have experience of the course in tournament conditions.
First up is last season's 54-hole leader and is available at a huge price. Graeme McDowell is 66/1 to win this year and had it not been for a final round 79 in 2011 he could have been defending champ this week. He also enjoys playing in Florida as his worse finish in the Sunshine State this year is 13th from three starts. An obvious each way bet.
Next up is WGC - Accenture Play Championship winner Hunter Mahan. One of the best drivers on Tour while also having superb GIR and putting stats he is available at a generous 25/1. Tied 6th last season, he could excel again this time round.

My final pick is a bit of an outsider, Stewart Cink is available at a huge 150/1 having shot an opening 65 and 69 last week at Quail Hollow. He finished top 20 at Sawgrass last year and finished 3rd in 2007. A small each way bet here could lead to a large return.
