Stellar field announced for Farmfoods British Par 3

Tony Jacklin will return as host of the 2014 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship for the sixth year running

Tony Jacklin will return as host of the 2014 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship for the sixth year running.

 Jacklin – two-time major winner and most successful Ryder Cup captain of all time – will be joined by Paul McGnley’s vice-captain Des Smyth and former players Brian Barnes, Peter Baker and Paul Broadhurst.

The Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship - which takes place from August 5-8 - will also welcome former Masters champion and victorious Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam and 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie OBE, who is making his debut in the tournament.

Some of the current stars of the European Tour, including Robert Rock and Lee Slattery, will also be battling it out to claim their share of the £100,000 prize fund, along with English teenage sensation Charley Hull.

Gary Wolstenholme, two-time Senior Major champion Roger Chapman, two-time European Tour winner Jamie Spence and former Ryder Cup player Phillip Price are also in the field.

The par-3 format provides a stern test of any golfer’s short game over a specialized par-3 course at Nailcote Hall in Warwickshire.

If spectators would like to purchase tickets on the day, they are £10 for adults, and £5 for under 13s and over 65s. A day season ticket is £25

Parking is available for £5 per car and includes a free programme with proceeds going to the event’s chosen charity, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.
