Sony Open golf betting guide
This is the first betting guide of the 2015 season for the PGA Tour. Each week throughout 2015 we will go head to head in a challenge against our bloggers DownThe18th.
For each European and PGA Tour event that we cover we will have £10 to place on the tournament. This can go on one player to win, or perhaps as many as 5 players each way. Whatever each writer thinks will work best.
Each week DownThe18th will do a blog recapping how the betting went and giving a weekly update on how each side are faring.
The Waialae Country Club in Hawaii hosts the 2015 Sony Open where Jimmy Walker is defending champion.
Walker lost in a play-off last Sunday to Patrick Reed so is not surprisingly reasonably short odds at 16/1.

The course is not one that appears to favour the big hitter, although hitting it long on any course is hardly a disadvantage.
When you look at the past winners, with names such as Ernie Els, Zach Johnson and K.J. Choi it would seem to suit great iron players.
Sony Open golf betting guide selections
Luke Donald £1.50 each way at 34/1
Finished in 2nd place here in 2007, and looked to be swinging it well in South Africa in early December. After a couple of poor years this could be the season that the former World Number One returns to form.
Charles Howell III £1.50 each way at 35/1
Is third in all time earnings at this course, but has never actually won here. Has finished top 10 here the last three seasons. Ignore him at your peril!
Kevin Na £1.50 each way at 40/1
Although extravagantly inconsistent at times, has had three top 10s here since 2008 and when he is hot he is very hot… although backing him the correct week is a tough ask
Angel Cabrera £0.50 each way at 100/1
If you are looking through the field for someone who strikes a golf ball pure then look no further than this two-time Major winner. Will he be up for the fight this week? Only time will tell, but at these odds he is worth a flutter.
Each way bets ¼ odds for top 6 finish. Prices sourced from Paddy Power
