Sergio Garcia bullish ahead of BMW PGA

Sergio Garcia is in confident mood ahead of the start of the 2013 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The Spaniard - who will be playing at the PGA for the first time since 2002 - has put in a number of impressive performances over the last few months.

Indeed, Garcia has notched 19 top 25-finishes in his last 20 worldwide starts.

"I'm excited to be back. There's an amazing group of players here and it should be a great week."

Garcia hasn't played a full 18 at Wentworth since Ernie Els completed his course renovations at the end of 2009.

"I've only played the front nine, but the course seems to have become much tougher with fewer scoring opportunities," said Garcia.

The 32-year-old said his decision to return had much to do with the prospective reuniting of Europe's victorious Ryder Cup team.

"It's special with the all the players from the Ryder Cup being here, so I wanted to make a little bit of an extra effort."

Garcia is coming into the tournament off the back of a strong Players Championship, where he was tied for the lead before finding water twice at the treacherous 17th hole on Sunday.

"It was obviously disappointing because I had a good chance to win the tournament, but at the same time I'm happy about how I played and how I handled myself."

Garcia also had a well-documented dispute with Tiger Woods at Sawgrass, but he was keen to draw a line under the incident.

"You can't like everybody that you come into contact with. It's as simple as that," Garcia said.   Where next?
