Scottish Open: golf betting guide
The Scottish Open takes places at Castle Stuart this week, here are our tipster's thoughts on who will do well over the Links
Last year saw Castle Stuart held its first European Tour event. It wont be forgotten either, as the weather turned very sour, a mini tornado hit the course and the event was reduced to three rounds.
With all the rain last year the course played particularly soft and scoring was good when the wind wasn't blowing. The weather looks mixed again this year with showers forecast throughout the tournament.
Luke Donald, last year's winner, is a very short-priced favourite at 7/1 meaning that the rest of the field are well priced.
Louis Oosthuizen at 25/1 with Ladbrokes Didn't play at Castle Stuart last year and hasn't played a European Tour event since the Maybank Malaysian Open in April (which he won). Being a former Open Champion he of course has the game to conquer a Link.
Martin Kaymer at 33/1 with Ladbrokes Is having a very up and down season, with three top tens, but also a few surprisingly poor performances. Won the Dunhill Links Championship in 2010 and enjoys the challenges of Links golf. At this price it is hard to ignore him.

Simon Dyson at 50/1 with Ladbrokes Not having the greatest of seasons but a master of Links golf. In the three rounds he played at Castle Stuart last year he had a 68 and a 67. Finished 10th at the Irish Open a couple of weeks a go to show his Links golf form is in good shape. Miguel Angel Jimenez at 125/1 with Ladbrokes The reason for his large price is he is playing poorly. However has had decent performances in the past on Links courses, especially at the Open. If he is inspired by beautiful Castle Stuart this week, then he could easily challenge come Sunday.

Tom Lewis at 150/1 with Ladbrokes The Englishman has had success on Links courses in the past, winning the Amateur Championship, the Open Silver Medal and of course being part of the GB&I team who won the Walker Cup just to name a few. He is a long price here for someone who will have had more practice on Links courses than most of the field in recent years.
