Scottish Open golf betting: Charl Schwartzel and Johan Edfors

As usual, there are also several decent players whose course records make them ones to oppose. Masters champion Angel Cabrera has only one top-10 from 12 visits, while the usually consistent Soren Kjeldsen has never made a top-10 in nine tries. Neither Hansen, Anders or Soren, has ever made the top-10 in sixteen tries between them on this course. I was seriously tempted by world-class US raiders Nick Watney and Brian Gay. Both have improved markedly over the past year, and are capable of getting competitive at nice prices if in full competitive mode. But ultimately, I prefer a couple of Euro Tour regulars who have already shown their ability to play this course, CHARL SCHWARTZEL and JOHAN EDFORS. Schwartzel has been playing well this season without much reward. The US Open was his only missed cut of 2009, and that was effectively settled after about six holes of the first round. An even par second round at Bethpage was decent. Besides that, he has only once finished outside the top-30, and made four top-6 places. The South African spent most of last week in contention to finish 13th, despite undoing a lot of good work on two disastrous holes. Back on a more suitable course where Charl finished runner-up in 2006, I expect he'll be there or thereabouts again. Finally, Edfors landed a big shock as a relative novice in 2006, and is almost certainly a more complete player now. He generally ranks near the top of the greens in regulation stats, which has enabled a series of good results this year, including a fourth professional title in an Asian Tour event. On his penultimate start, the Swede played extremely well to make the top-30 in the US Open, and Loch Lomond is incomparably more favourable towards his birdie-chasing talents than Bethpage.
