Schofield to head Ashes review
Former European Tour executive director Ken Schofield has been appointed head of a committee that will look into England’s humiliating 5-0 defeat in the Ashes
The task of reviewing the England cricket team's poor performance in the Ashes series has been handed to former European Tour executive director Ken Schofield.
Schofield will head an independent committee that will also include former England cricket captains Mike Atherton and Nasser Hussain as well as former England fast bowler Angus Fraser.
Schofield helped grow the European Tour from just 17 events in 1975 to nearly 50 in 2004 when he retired and was instrumental in creating a successful European Ryder Cup set-up.
"I've been appointed as an independent voice and I'll do the job without fear or favour. We have access to all areas and we know we have to think quickly on our feet," Schofield told the Guardian.
