Tickets have been selling fast for Bank Holiday Monday's first major PowerPlay Golf event. Don't forget that you can buy your tickets on the day and watch some of golf's greatest players go head-to-head in this superb new attacking format.
Watching golf's elite players compete at close quarters is always a thrill, but witnessing superstars tackle PowerPlay Golf's tough Black Flags for the first time will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Organisers are expecting large crowds for PowerPlay Golf's inaugural Tour-style event - officially titled PowerPlay Golf driven by Saab: IGNITION on Monday 30th May at 2010 Ryder Cup venue The Celtic Manor Resort, Wales.
Hailed as golf's equivalent to Twenty20 Cricket, PowerPlay Golf delivers a high-excitement version of the sport in a short time frame, with its two-flag nine-hole 'risk and reward' format promising to deliver an unforgettable experience for spectators and TV viewers. The stellar 12-player field is headed by current US Open champions Graeme McDowell and Paula Creamer, Major winners John Daly, Ian Woosnam and Helen Alfredsson, plus Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter and Paul Casey and several other big names.
The big-hitting Daly is set to excite the crowds with his flamboyant style, which is well suited to the risk-and-reward nature of PowerPlay Golf. He said: "I love the idea of getting extra points for firing at the tough flags. PowerPlay Ignition is going to be a real blast and I can't wait to get out there and give it a rip."
Spectators can buy tickets at the gate on the day: Adults £15, Seniors £10 and Children Under 16 go for free!
