Poulter announces Wentworth return
Race to Dubai leader Ian Poulter has followed Padraig Harrington in ending a personal boycott of the European Tour's prestigious BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth
Race to Dubai leader Ian Poulter has followed Padraig Harrington in ending a personal boycott of the European Tour's prestigious BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
Both Poulter and Harrington had chosen to play elsewhere during the last two years due to the state of the Wentworth greens, but the re-design of the West Course has brought new interest.
"I am delighted to be playing again," Poulter said.
"It is a great championship and I am looking forward to checking out the modifications to the West Course which Ernie (Els) has undertaken.
"I am sure the changes will be for the better."
Poulter, who won the WGC-Accenture Matchplay Championship in February, missed the Zurich Classic of New Orleans because of a knee injury picked up whilst playing basketball, but expects to make the Players Championship from May 6-9.
Poulter will also join last year's Race to Dubai champion Lee Westwood at Wentworth. Westwood missed the cut last year, however he feels the course changes signal good news for his game.

"They have changed it dramatically and to be honest I welcome the changes because the way I usually play on the course has meant that I have never really had a chance," said Westwood.
"I think that we will now have an even stronger field for what is our flagship event."
Defending champion, Paul Casey told the European Tour's website: "I'm intrigued to see what Ernie's done and how the greens perform, but I know with two par fives to finish we are going to have fun and excitement."
