PING S56 irons revealed
PING has unveiled one of its latest sets of irons, the PING S56 irons. Find out more about the design and take a look at some of these first look pictures of the clubs that Louis Oosthuizen had in the bag during his Open Championship win

Earlier this month Louis Oosthuizen was too good for the field at St Andrews as he ran away with the 139th Open Championship. In his bag that week were the new PING S56 irons and it was evident from day one that the South African felt at ease with his new clubs.
PING has provided a higher moment of inertia for greater forgiveness and the tungsten weight in the long irons positions the centre of gravity further back to produce a higher ball flight.
The tungsten weight in the short irons extends deeper into the clubhead to position the centre of gravity closer to the face for a more penetrating and controlled trajectory. The PING S56 irons produce fractionally more spin as the centre of gravity is positioned slightly higher.
Meanwhile, the stabalising bars in the long irons are narrower to help increase distance while the short irons have a wider bar for maximum distance control.

PING engineers worked closely with its PGA Tour staff players to provide head shape, size and performance beyond what be found in a typical blade design.
After his Open victory, Oosthuizen said: "I'm very thankful to be part of the PING Tour staff.

"The new irons gave me the confidence to play some very difficult shots around St Andrews and I was also able to drive my ball long and straight.
"My entire game was under control this week and I attribute a lot of that to my PING equipment."
The new PING S56 irons will be available to buy at the beginning of September.
