Paint the town pink at the Quinn Insurance British Masters
Ladies are invited to paint the town pink at the Quinn Insurance British Masters on Friday 26th September as the tournament tees off Ladies Day in style
The special day, sponsored by the prestigious watchmaker Audemars Piguet, will take on a playful pink theme with plenty of fun, prizes and great golfing talent on show at the famous Belfry golf resort.
The highlight of the festivities is set to be the glamorous 'Best Dressed' competition, compered by charismatic BBC commentator Andrew Cotter. Dress to impress or go for laid-back chic in traditional sporty and golf attire - why not dazzle our judges in pink to show your support for official Ladies Day and Pink Friday charity Breast Cancer Campaign. There's free champagne and nibbles for all entrants and a top golfer awarding winners with exclusive prizes from event sponsors, Audemars Piguet.
Fans' favourite Darren Clarke judged last year's event and he said: "I had a fantastic time judging the Best Dressed competition - and who wouldn't! The complimentary champagne and strawberries were certainly a hit and I look forward to another Ladies Day success this year."
The first fifty ladies through the gates will be granted free entry to the tournament, plus all other ladies attending on the day will receive 25% off ticket prices. In addition all ladies will be entered into a fabulous free prize draw to win a luxurious Belfry Spa day, a bottle of Moët and Chandon Pink Champagne plus a host of other girlie goodies.
Pink Friday will see a rose tinted hue sweep the golf course too - all Quinn Insurance British Masters staff, marshals, media and even players are being encouraged to wear pink or sport a pink ribbon in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign - a cause close to golfer Darren Clarke after he lost his wife, Heather, to breast cancer in 2006. All proceeds raised from special events will be donated to the charity and event promoters International Sports Management will be leading the way by donating £100 for each birdie and £200 for each eagle obtained by the ISM stable of players.
The tented village will once again be the hub of Ladies Day activity, with the 2008 Best Dressed competition commencing at 11:00am. Get in the swing with ladies-only deals on top golfing gear in The Belfry's exhibition unit and pro-shop. Or dine yourself divine with special themed catering offers in the village and Sam's Bar. While ladies think pink, gentlemen go back to black with special offers at the Guinness bar. Men can also win special prizes on the inflatable chipping unit and in their own free prize draw.
Commenting, Gary Mead, CEO of Audemars Piguet UK, said: "Ladies Day is set to be bigger and better than ever and we're proud to sponsor the Best Dressed competition. We hope to see an abundance of ladies coming to enjoy the festivities at this great golf tournament."
