Maybank Malaysian Open golf betting guide
The first Major of the season may have come and gone, but the betting continues and here's this week's Maybank Malaysian Open golf betting guide
This week's European Tour action sees Masters nearly man Louis Oosthuizen start as the
12/1 favourite alongside compatriot Charl Schwartzel. Neither are appealing at that price. Oosthuizen is entitled to feel a bit tired after his admirable Masters efforts and Schwartzel is not striking the ball as consistently as he was a year or so ago. Still, they are the standout players in the field and favourite backers might fancy 12/1.
In the top half of the betting Matteo Manassero looks good value at
16/1. The defending champion has no scars from Augusta and will be fresh. The Italian narrowly missed out on qualification for the Masters but his form is not that shabby.
Soren Kjeldsen put in a decent performance at the Sicilian Open a fortnight ago to finish third and he's
25/1 with Ladbrokes. The Dane hasn't been as dangerous as he was in 2008/09, but does look to be getting back to somewhere near his best. This week he might just get back to winning ways.

Last year at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club Rafael Cabrera-Bello finished tied fourth and he can be backed at
40/1 with Ladbrokes. The Spaniard is already a winner this year and that price looks decent, so we're having a dabble on him this week.
Martin Kaymer is
12/1. The German at least made the cut at Augusta and for a while looked to have it going, but he still doesn't look to be firing on all cylinders. He should really figure in this field but we were hoping to get a touch better than 12s on a man who doesn't seem quite as happy with his game so far this season.
One player who does look to be finding his feet on the European Tour is Scott Jamieson. His record might not be that spectacular but the 2011 rookie has started to look at home after spending time on the Challenge Tour, and if he can just produce a bit more consistency he's more than capable of grabbing an each-way place.
