Madeira Islands Open golf betting tips
Well, well, well – this week is going to be tough.
The European Tour is at the Madeira Islands Open this week, and to say the field is lacking any quality would be an understatement.
The favourites for the tournament this week are Justin Walters, Kevin Phelan and former winner Ricardo Santos all at 22/1. Between them they are hardly having a stellar season. But so lacking is the state of the rest of the field they find themselves at this very short price.
This tournament has been a springboard for players to leap into the winners’ circle with 2013 winner Peter Uihlein going on to better things since his breakthrough win.
This week I am going to try a different tactic to usual. There is no doubt there will be a couple of huge odds players that creep their way into the top 5 this week, so I am on the hunt for them.

Madeira Islands Open golf betting tips advised bets
Alessandro Tadini £1 each way at 60/1 Not exactly in wonderful form, but with a Tied 5th at the South African Open in January under his belt, the Italian could be one to shine here this week. Has plenty of experience over this course including a Top 5 in 2010.
Tim Sluiter £1 each way at 100/1The Dutchman had a Top 20 result here a couple of years back. Had a fair season on the Challenge Tour in 2014. Could be one to rise to the challenge this week.
Garrick Porteous £1 each way at 150/1 The 2013 Amateur Champion has not knocked down many doors since he turned pro after last year’s masters. But has all the attributes to hit the headlines this week.
Lorenzo Gagli at 175/1 Finished Top 25 here last season and has made the cut three times out of three. Will be looking to find the form he had in 2011 where he finished 2011 on the Order of Merit.
Elliot Saltman £1 each way at 250/1 The controversial Scotsman has not had a good time of late, but following a win on the PGA EuroPro Tour in Egypt back in November he may be coming into this event that is full of outsider slightly under the radar.
All odds from Paddy Power. Each way bets - ¼ odds top 5 places.
