Legends Reno-Tahoe Open golf betting guide: Odds and bets
Golf betting guide for the PGA Tour's Legends Reno-Tahoe Open Montreux GC, Nevada. With the big guns teeing it up at Firestone, this looks to be a hard tournament to bet on, but our tipster has the lowdown to give you the best possible chance of making some money.
An early tee-time is often an advantage at Montreux so from the very earliest starting time, Scotland's MARTIN LAIRD is no forlorn hope to land a rare British success in the States. It was with 4th place in this event last year that Laird first really emerged into the public conciousness, swiftly followed by a string of good finishes to progress through the Fedex Cup. On the basis of 10th place at Loch Lomond and a strong challenge at the recent Canadian Open, Laird could again be in for a lucrative late summer. Finally, a word about a few outsiders. Jason Gore finished 8th last year and has always struck me as a capable winner in this grade. Charles Warren and Kevin Stadler have both finished runner-up at Montreux before, and showed a bit of encouragement over the weekend. Harrison Frazar clearly likes this course, having twice made the top-5 amongst five top-20s, but is impossible to back having just one Nike Tour victory 12 years ago to his name as a professional. The one big outsider to make the staking plan is BRENDON DE JONGE. This Zimbabwean carried a decent reputation over from the Nationwide Tour, but his rookie season hasn't really delivered as yet. There have been moments of promise, such as 7th in the recent US Bank Championship, and De Jonge can at least draw some inspiration from 6th place on his sole previous visit to Montreux in 2007.
