Keegan Bradley won the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Championship in Texas after beating fellow American Ryan Palmer at the first play-off hole
Keegan Bradley won the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Championship in Texas after beating fellow American Ryan Palmer at the first play-off hole.
When Palmer made bogey it was left to the PGA Tour rookie to hole out from two feet.
"I don't know what to say. I'm so happy, I can't believe this just
happened," said Bradley, who posted an impressive final-round 68 in brutal scoring conditions at TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas.
Meanwhile, for Palmer, there was the consolation prize of a place in the second Major of the season, the US Open at Congressional Country Club in June.
In much the same way as events unfolded on the European Tour at Wentworth, where Westwood found water at the first play-off hole, Palmer did likewise, undoing his hard work of finding a birdie at the last in regulation play.
Both players tied on 277, the highest winning total on the US Tour in 2011,

Japan's Ryuji Imada made a bogey on the last that cost him a place in the play-off and another player to suffer on the weekend was Spain's Sergio Garcia.
Garcia led after 36 holes as he went search of the win that would have given him a spot in the Open Championship, but he slumped to a tie for 20th with rounds of 74 and 77 over the weekend.
