Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open betting

I feel a little bit guilty writing this betting column. Here's Justin doing his bit for a very worthy cause and here I am trying my best to see where to make a few quid in the betting.

Betting on the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open (JTSHFCO), make that Justin Timberlake's Golf Thing (JTGT), is actually good fun. Most of the big boys are at the Dunhill playing with actors/music artists/ex sportsmen, or out stealing other people's caddies, but there are good opportunities to pick up a few quid on the golfers that remain.

Martin Laird is 14/1 and boasts an impressive record here, but the bookies know that and 14/1 isn't that appealing. Nor is the 10/1 on Nick Watney even if he is the best player in the field.

One player who has been in impressive form is Chez Reavie and at 25/1, this is my first tip. Chez finished 10th in the FedEx Standings and the Arizona man should be high on confidence. In a relatively weak field you have to think the class acts should be in the mix come Sunday.

George McNeill seems generous in the betting at 33/1. McNeill is somewhat of a Fall Series specialist and picked up a win at the 2007 Frys.com Open in Las Vegas. He lost in a play-off at the JT Shriners Hospital for Children Open in 2010, but remains 33/1 which represents a pretty decent price.

My final betting selection is Scott Piercy. This 40/1 pick is a Las Vegas man who has won on the PGA Tour before but just lacks a bit of consistency. A couple of top 10s this year does not suggest a spectacular season, but it's enough to hint that he could make the money in this 'weakish' field. Should Watney not be on top form this one is wide open.
